Kokanee Imitation. Designed with combinations of blue, white, green, and silver/yellow to match the flash and profile of kokanee salmon fry, the primary forage for trophy trout on Kootenay Lake.
Trolling Tactic. Trolled right on or just below the surface at high speeds of 3.0 to 3.5 mph, often using planer boards to avoid boat-noise spooking.
Cool-Water Season. Most productive in spring, late fall, and winter when Kootenay Lake surface temperatures cool down and baitfish migrate high in the water column.
